Nuhu rides his new bike three miles each way to school

Dear Kandace,

Nuhu is from the village Dupari, in the Upper West Region of Ghana. Most people in Dupari are farmers who grow yams, corn, peanuts, millett and sorghum, and they take their produce to Bulenga for sale. The closest town is Bulenga, which is located about three miles away. Dupari only has a primary school, but Bulenga has a Junior High School and a clinic. There is no public transportation between Bulenga and Dupari, so most people from Dupari must walk to Bulenga in order to attend school.

Thanks to your donation, Kandace, Nuhu received a bicycle and was taught how to take care of it! As he lives about three miles away from school, having a bike saves Nuhu many hours walking each week. He rides the bike to and from school, and now will be able to get to school every day, arrive on time, and have more time for homework!

Nuhu is very thankful for your donation, Kandace! Thank you for your support of Village Bicycle Project!
