Hamza is from the village Dupari, in the Upper West Region of Ghana. The closest town is Bulenga, located about five kilometers away. Dupari only has a primary school, and Bulenga has a Junior High School and a clinic. Hamza goes to school to Bulenga, but as there is no public transportation between Bulenga and Dupari, he must walk to school.
Thanks to your donation, Rhodes, Hamza received a bicycle and was taught how to take care of it! Hamza uses his bicycle everyday to ride the five kilometers to Bulenga in order to attend school. He says, “The long walk makes me very tired. I was always late getting to school, but now when I ride my bike I will be on time.” Hamza will also ride the bike to the market. At the Bulenga market he can buy things that are not easily available in Dupari. Owning a bike makes life easier, saves time and money, and will help Hamza succeed in school!
Hamza is very thankful for your donation, Rhodes! Thank you for your support of Village Bicycle Project!
