Iddiris is from the village of Dupari, in the Upper West Region of Ghana. Most families are farmers, and the children help with the farming and many household chores. The closest town is Bulenga, which is about 5 kilometers away. Dupari only has a primary school, while Bulenga has an upper school and a clinic. Iddiris is a student in Bulenga. As there is no public transportation between Bulenga and Dupari most people walk.
Mark, thanks to your donation Iddiris received a bicycle and was taught how to take care of it! Having a bike will save him many hours walking each week. “I will use my bicycle to go to school. It takes one and a half hours to walk there, but only 20 minutes to ride my bike. I will go to farm with the extra time the bicycle gives me. I can now go anywhere I like to go easily.”
Iddiris is very thankful for your donation, Mark! Thank you for your support of Village Bicycle Project!
