Dear Toni,

Suraji is a farmer from Dupari, a village located in the Upper West Region of Ghana. Most people in Dupari are farmers who grow yams, corn, peanuts, millett and sorghum. They take their harvest to the market in the town of Bulenga, which is about three miles from Dupari.  There is no public transportation between Bulenga and Dupari. Most people walk from the village to the town and back – often with heavy loads.

Thanks to your donation, Suraji received a bicycle and was taught how to take care of it.  He says, “My house is 5 km from my fields, and so is the market. I leave home every morning at 6:00am. With my bike I will be able to travel much faster.” Owning a bike will make Suraji’s life easier and more productive and give him more time with his family at the end of the day.

Suraji is very thankful for your donation, Toni!  Thank you for your support of Village Bicycle Project!
