Wahabu is from the village Dupari, located in the Upper West Region of Ghana. Most people in Dupari are farmers who grow yams, corn, peanuts, millett and sorghum. They take their products to Bulenga, three miles away, to sell them on the market. There is no public transportation between Bulenga and Dupari, and therefore most people walk the distance between the two villages.
Thanks to your donation, Wahabu received a bicycle and was taught how to take care of it. Wahabu is a student at the St. Augustine School at Bulenga, and will use his bike to get to school. “It is a one hour walk each way from Dupari. The walk makes me very tired. I will use the bike all throughout the week to go from home to the farm or to my school or friends. It makes life now much better.”
Wahabu is very thankful for your donation, Keith! Thank you for your support of Village Bicycle Project!
