gave 30 for a bicycle and repair education for one person |
posted January 7, 2011

Dawda Ibrahim is a student from the village Dupari, located in the Upper West Region of Ghana. Dupari is a farming village, and there is no transportation to the nearest town of Bulenga, so almost everyone walks there. Dawda Ibrahim is a student in Wa, the district’s main city, which is 30 km away from Dupari.
Thanks to your donation, Dawda received a bicycle and was taught how to take care of it! Normally, Dawda must first walk to Bulenga, and then ride in a shared taxi to Wa. It costs about $1 each way to Wa, which is a lot of money in Ghana that can be used for other things. Now, he can bike all the way to school. He says, “I will use the money I save to buy books. I want to have my education to help me become a bank manager.”
Dawda is very thankful for your donation, Maureen! Thank you for your support of Village Bicycle Project!
