Dowudi No Longer Late to Class with New Bike!

34 Dupari Dowudi Fatuma
Dear Alanna,

Dowudi Fatuma is a student  from the village Dupari, located in the Upper West Region of Ghana.  Her family and most people in Dupari are farmers and they take their produce to Bulenga for sale, 5 km away.  There is no public transportation between Bulenga and Dupari, so most people walk.  There is only a grade school in Dupari, and students must also walk  the 5km to Bulenga to go to middle school or high school.

Dowudi is a student in Bulenga.  Thanks to your donation, Dowudi received a bicycle and learned how to take care of it! Along with her brothers and sisters, she will use the bicycle to get to the Bulenga school more quickly and on time.  She is very grateful and says, “I feel very fine!  Happy!  Now, having a bicycle, I will not be late to school.” Dowudi can travel faster to and from school.  Owning a bike gives her more time to study, will increase her attendance at school, and gives her time to help on the family farm. Life with a bicycle will be much easier!

Dowudi is very thankful for your donation, Alanna! Thank you for your support of Village Bicycle Project!
