Kansgga Now Easily Transports from Farm to Market!

Dear Brandon,

Kansgga is a farmer from the village of Dupari, located in the Upper West Region of Ghana. Most people in Dupari are farmers who grow yams, corn, peanuts, millet and sorghum. They take their products to Bulenga, where they try to sell them.  There is no public transportation between Bulenga and Dupari and therefore most people walk the 5 km between the two villages.  Kansgga’s farm is four miles from his house.  Before he received the bicycle, he would walk everywhere–even with heavy loads.

Thanks to your donation, Kansgga received a bicycle and was taught how to take care of it.  He says, “Owning the bicycle will make me happy to go to the farm and come back again.” In the workshop he learned about the dangers of sharing his bicycle with too many people.  He says, “I will not allow everyone in my family to ride the bike because I like it very much, and I don’t want them to break it!”

Owning a bicycle will make life for Kansgga much easier and more productive; as a result, his income will increase. He will also have more time for his friends and family.

Kansgga is very thankful for your donation, Brandon!  Thank you for your support of Village Bicycle Project!
