Klahabu is a farmer from the village Dupari, located in the Upper West Region of Ghana. Most people in Dupari are farmers who grow yams, corn, peanuts, millet and sorghum, and they take their produce to Bulenga for sale. Bulenga is located about from kilometers away from Dupari. There is no public transportation between Bulenga and Dupari, so most people walk.
Thanks to your donation, Klahabu received a bicycle and was taught how to take care of it! He mainly uses his bicycle to go to his farm, which is five miles from his house. He says, “My bicycle will make life easier because when I walk to my farm, I arrive tired, but now I can work more. I will make more money. I will use the money for whatever I need!” Owning a bike will make life for Klahabu’s much easier, more productive and increase his income!
Klahabu is very thankful for your donation, Beth! Thank you for your support of Village Bicycle Project!
