Mahammed is a student from the village Dupari, located in the Upper West Region of Ghana. His family and most people in Dupari are farmers. To sell their produce, they must take their goods to Bulenga for sale, located about five kilometers away. There is no public transportation between Bulenga and Dupari, so most people walk and carry their produce to the market. Thanks to your donation, Mahammed received a bicycle and learned how to take care of it!
Mahammed is a student and also uses his bicycle to go to school in Dupari as well as to go to his family farm! Mahammed will also ride his bike to carry harvested crops to the house, and to the market much easier and quicker than if he were walking and carrying the load. Owning a bike gives him more time to study, increases his attendance at school, and gives him more time to help on the family farm!
Mahammed is very thankful for your donation, Meghan! Thank you for your support of Village Bicycle Project!
