Nasin Zakariya Has More Family Time After Receiving a Bike!

35 dupari Nasin Zakariya
Dear Sara,

Nasin Zakariya is a farmer from the village of Dupari, located in the Upper West Region of Ghana. Most people in Dupari are farmers who grow yams, corn, peanuts, millet and sorghum, and they take their produce to Bulenga for sale, 5 km away from Dupari.  There is no public transportation between Bulenga and Dupari, so most people walk.  Before he got the bicycle, he would walk– sometimes carrying heavy loads.

Thanks to your donation, Nasin received a bicycle and was taught how to take care of it.  He will mainly use his bicycle to go to his farm 5 km from his house.  He says, “I currently walk to my farm.  I leave home by 8:30 am.  I will travel to my farm quicker with my bicycle.  Using my bike, I will be at home earlier with a little time to relax!  I am very happy because I received a bicycle from you.”

Owning a bike will make life for Kansgga’s much easier, more productive and increase his income. He will have more time for his friends and family, too.

Nasin is very thankful for your donation, Sara!  Thank you for your support of Village Bicycle Project!
