Ameen Hamidu Helps Him and His Family!

41 dupari Ameen Sahabudeen
Dear ANNE,

Ameen Hamidu is a farmer from the village Dupari, located in the Upper West Region of Ghana. Most people in Dupari are farmers who grow yams, corn, peanuts, millet and sorghum, and they take their produce to Bulenga for sale, 5 km away from Dupari.  There is no public transportation between Bulenga and Dupari, so most people walk.

Thanks to your donation, Ameen received a bicycle and was taught how to take care of it.  He will mainly use his bicycle to go to his farm, which is 3 km from his house.  He says, “I get tired of walking.  I can now work more hours and make more money.  I will use the money for new clothes, foods for family, and to help my 2 uncles because they are family and need the money.” He will also use the bicycle to take his produce from his farm to the market in Bulenga– a larger town about 5 km away.

Owning a bike will make life for Ameen much easier,  more productive and increase his income. Ameen is very thankful for your donation, Anne!  Thank you for your support of Village Bicycle Project!
