Mahema Hamidu Gets to His Farm Quicker with New Bicycle!

42 Dupari Mahema Hamidu
Dear Jane,

Mahema Hamidu is a farmer from the village Dupari, located in the Upper West Region of Ghana. Most people in Dupari are farmers who grow yams, corn, peanuts, millet and sorghum; they take their produce to Bulenga for sale, 5 km away from Dupari.  There is no public transportation between Bulenga and Dupari, so most people walk.

Thanks to your donation, Mahema received a bicycle and was taught how to take care of it.  He will use his bicycle to go to his farm, which is 4 km from his house.  He says, “Owning a bicycle is very good, because walking a long way in the hot sun is very tiring.  Now I will have more time to work on my farm and earn more money for my family.” Owning a bike will make life for Mahema much easier,  more productive and increase his income.

Mahema is very thankful for your donation, Jane!  Thank you for your support of Village Bicycle Project!
