Gatah is a farmer from the village pf Dupari, located in the Upper West Region of Ghana. Most people in Dupari are farmers who grow yams, corn, peanuts, millet and sorghum, and they take their produce to Bulenga for sale, 5 km away from Dupari. There is no public transportation between Bulenga and Dupari, so most people walk.
Thanks to your donation, Gatah received a bicycle and was taught how to take care of it. He will use his bicycle to go to his farm, which is 4 km from his house. He says, “I am very happy I will own a bicycle. I will use my bike to carry heavy loads, which is much easier and quicker!” Owning a bike will make life for Gatah much easier, more productive and increase his income.
Gatah is very thankful for your donation, Robert! Thank you for your support of Village Bicycle Project!
