Zeinab is a farmer from the village Dupari, located in the Upper West Region of Ghana. Most people in Dupari are farmers who grow yams, corn, peanuts, millet and sorghum, and they take their produce to Bulenga for sale, 5 km away from Dupari. There is no public transportation between Bulenga and Dupari, so most people walk.
Thanks to your donation, Zeinab received a bicycle and was taught how to take care of it. Zeinab will give the bicycle to her son who is in school at Wa, about 35 miles from Dupari. With a bicycle her son can come home to Dupari every once in a while without needing to pay for expensive public transportation. This is good for both her and her son because if she needs him he can come to help her with household tasks and if he has any problem and needs to come home he can do so easily. Owning a bike will make life for Zeinab and her son much easier, more productive and save them money.
Zeinab is very thankful for your donation, Erica! Thank you for your support of Village Bicycle Project!
