Fussein is a 12 year old student from the village Dupari, located in the Upper West Region of Ghana. Like most people in Dupari, Fussein’s family are farmers and they take their produce to Bulenga for sale, 5 km away. Fussein, like most rural African children, also helps every day on the family farm. There is no public transportation between Bulenga and Dupari, so most people have to walk and carry their produce to the market.
Thanks to your donation, Fussein received a bicycle and learned how to take care of it! He will now be able to ride the bicycle the 6 km to the farm instead of having to walk. He will also be able to carry produce to the market in Bulenga (5km away) much faster than he did walking. Fussein is also happy because he can carry much heavier loads on the bicycle than he can walking. Owning a bike saves Fussein time, which will allow him to study more and increase his attendance at school. It also gives him more time to help on the family farm.
Fussein is very thankful for your donation, Kyley! Thank you for your support of Village Bicycle Project!
