Hamza is a farmer from the village Dupari, located in the Upper West Region of Ghana. Most people in Dupari are farmers who grow yams, corn, peanuts, millet and sorghum, and they take their produce to Bulenga and Chaggo for sale, both of which are 3 miles away from Dupari. There is no public transportation between Dupari and Bulenga or Chaggo, so like most people, Hamza walks.
Thanks to your donation, Hamza received a bicycle and was taught how to take care of it. He usually walks seven miles to his farm five or six days per week. Now that he can ride his bike he can save a substantial amount of time each day. He can also carry heavy loads much more easily and not be as tired after the journey. Owning a bike will make life for Hamza much easier, so he can be more productive and increase his income.
Hamza is very thankful for your donation, Craig! Thank you for your support of Village Bicycle Project!
