Suleyman is a farmer in the village Dupari, located in the Upper West Region of Ghana. Most people in Dupari are farmers who grow yams, corn, peanuts, millet and sorghum. They take their produce to Bulenga and Chaggo for sale, both of which are 5km from Dupari. There is no public transportation between Dupari and either Bulenga or Chaggo, so like most people, Suleyman walks.
Thanks to your donation, Suleyman received a bicycle and was taught how to take care of it. Suleyman said “It is much faster and easier to carry a heavy load on a bicycle than on my head while walking. On my way back from market, I can carry things like tomatoes and other goods that I can’t produce on my farm.” Owning a bike will make life for Suleyman much easier, more productive and increase his income.
Suleyman is very thankful for your donation, Edward! Thank you for your support of Village Bicycle Project!
