Abogango is a subsistence farmer who lives in Kandiga, a village in rural northern Ghana. Thanks to your donation, Abogango received a bicycle and was taught how to take care of it. She uses the bike to go to her farm, which is four miles away. The family will also let their son use the bike to get to school quickly and more often. Most students have many morning chores at home, such as feeding animals and hauling water, which makes it hard for them to get to school on time.
The family will also use the bike to go to the markets and medical clinic in bigger towns. Abogango will also use the bike to get to the town of Tumo, where she can earn wages working in the rice harvest. Owning a bike will save Abogango’s family time, money and help them all to be more productive.
Abogango is very thankful for your donation, Marc! Thanks for your support of the Village Bicycle Project!
