Anootjire lives in the village called Kandiga, in rural northern Ghana. She is a farmer and also makes Shea butter to sell in the local market. Thanks to your donation, Anootjire received a bicycle and was taught how to take care of it.
Anootjire uses her bike to go to the bigger town of Junction, 5 miles away and to her farm which is more than five miles away! In the larger town she is able to buy more Shea nuts than she could carry when walking. This gives her the ability to make and sell more Shea butter and earn more money. Anootjire says, “When I walk to the Junction or to our farm I get so tired! With this bike I can carry plenty!”
Anootjire is very thankful for your donation, Allison! Thanks for your support of the Village Bicycle Project!
