Asuribesah lives in Kandiga, a village in rural northern Ghana. Thanks to your donation, Asuribesah received a bicycle and was taught how to take care of it.
Asuribesah uses her bicycle to get to her farm and to the market, which are several miles away. At the market in Kandiga she buys millet, a type of grain used as a base for porridge and flat breads. She then resells the millet in a market in Sirgu, which is more than 10 miles away. While at the Sirgu market she buys ground nuts to sell in the Kandiga market. Without her bike, she paid transport fees to move the goods back and forth. She says, “Now with the bicycle I can save money and time! I will save money for the things we need!” Owning a bike will save Asuribesah many hours every week, and will help her be more productive and successful.
Asuribesah is very thankful for your donation, Carla! Thanks for your support of the Village Bicycle Project!
