Asammale with her new bike!
Dear John,
Asammale Akaage lives in Kandiga, a village in rural northern Ghana. Thanks to your donation, Asammale received a bicycle and was taught how to take care of it. Asammale uses the bike to get to her farm and to the market, which is several miles away. She shares the bike with her daughter who rides it 3 miles to get to school. Using a bike allows her daughter to do all of her chores and still arrive at school on time. Her daughter has more time for homework and for helping her family.
Asammale says,”My daughter is very helpful now. Before we had the bike I would send her places and she would not be happy because she would have to walk very far.” Owning a bike will save Asammale and her daughter many hours every week, and will help her to be more productive and successful.
Asammale is very thankful for your donation, John! Thanks for your support of the Village Bicycle Project!
