Dear Annie,
Abila Hellen lives in the village called Kandiga, in rural northern Ghana. Thanks to your donation, Abila received a bicycle and was taught how to take care of it.
Abila uses the bike to get to the family farm and to the market several miles away. The family grows millet on their farm, and uses the bike to carry the grain from the fields to the grinding mill and home again. Abila also lets her 24 year old son use the bike to help with the farming chores. Without the bike, they carried the grain in baskets on their heads while walking. With the bike, they can travel where they need to go much more quickly than when they had to walk everywhere. Owning a bike will save Abila and her family many hours every week, and will help them be more productive and successful.
Abila is very thankful for your donation, Annie! Thanks for your support of the Village Bicycle Project!
