Rose gains freedom and time with her bike!

Picture 054
Dear Peng Hooi,

Rose lives in Kandiga, a village in rural northern Ghana. Thanks to your donation, Rose received a bicycle and was taught how to take care of it.

Rose uses her new bike to get to her farm and to the market several miles away. She buys millet at the Kandiga market, and then resells it at another market in Sirigu, which is 10 miles away.  In Sirigu, she buys ground nuts, and sells them in the Kandiga Market. Without her bike, she paid transportation fare to move the things back and forth, and she didn’t have enough time to go to the woman’s association community meetings. She says, “I use the bicycle now to go to meetings anytime I want to go. Before the bicycle, it was hard to go to a meeting!” Owning a bike will save Rose many hours every week, and will help her be more productive and successful.

Rose is very thankful for your donation, Peng Hooi!  Thanks for your support of the Village Bicycle Project!
