Akua is from Bodaa, Ghana, on the western boarder next to Cote D’Ivoire. Most people in this town of about 1000 people are farmers, and the soil is fairly good there. People in Bodaa walk most places they go, and waste valuable time getting around. Thanks to your donation, Akua received a bicycle and was taught how to take care of it.
Akua is a 33 year old yam farmer. Her daughter, Lydia, helped her get the bicycle so that she can get to her farm more easily and not have to walk as much. She will share it with her daughter who likes to ride it around town for fun. Owning a bike saves time and energy for Akua and her family, and makes life a lot more productive!
Akua is very thankful for your donation, Kandace! Thanks for your support of the Village Bicycle Project!
