Ankama is from Bodaa, Ghana, on the western border of the country next to Cote D’Ivoire. Most people in this town of about 1,000 people are farmers. Bodaans have to walk everywhere and waste valuable time they could be devoting to work, chores, or simply spending time with their communtiy. Thanks to your donation, Ankama received a bicycle and was taught how to take care of it.
Ankama is 63 years old, the Village Chief of Bodaa, and also a cocoa, cashew and palm fruit farmer. His farm is over three kilometers away from his home and he spends an hour in transit while carrying heavy tools and supplies. With the help of the bike from Village Bicycle Project, Ankama can now more easily get to the farm and back, and still have time to perform his village duties. Owning a bike saves time and energy for Ankama and makes life a lot more productive!
Ankama is very thankful for your donation, Cindy. Thank you for your support of the Village Bicycle Project!
