Sophia is from Bodaa, Ghana, on the western boarder next to Cote D’Ivoire. Most people in this town of about 1,000 people are farmers and the soil is fairly good there. People in Bodaa have to walk most places and waste valuable time getting around.
Thanks to your donation, Ted and Pam, Sophia received a bicycle and learned how to care for it. Sophia is 29 years old and is an apprenticeship to become a hair stylist. She takes her lessons in a town 20 kilometers from Bodaa. Sophia used to travel to school by waiting for hours to ride in private taxis, the only transport available, but now rides comfortably on her bicycle. Owning a bike saves time and money for Sophia, and makes life a lot more productive!
Sophia is very thankful for your donation, Ted and Pam! Thanks for your support of the Village Bicycle Project!
