Alhassan is a carpenter is from Dupari, a village in the Upper West Region of Ghana. He works in the main city of Wa, which is about 18 miles from Dupari.
Thanks to your donation, Alhassan received a bicycle and was taught how to take care of it. He says he will ride his bicycle to Bulenga, about three miles from Dupari, where he can often get a shared taxi ride to Wa. Private taxis are the only form of motorized transportation available. Alhassan plans to ride his bike all the way to work in Wa many days to save the cost for the shared taxi. He says, “I will get to my workplace faster and make more money since I won’t have to pay car fares. I am hoping they bring more bicycles to Dupari!”
Alhassan is very thankful for your donation, Lauren! Thank you for your support of Village Bicycle Project!
