Osuman is a farmer from Dupari, a village located in the Upper West Region of Ghana. Most people in Dupari are farmers who grow yams, corn, peanuts, millett and sorghum. They take their harvest to the market in the town of Bulenga, which is about three miles from Dupari. There is no public transportation between Bulenga and Dupari. Most people walk from their fields to their homes or to the market and back – often with heavy loads.
Thanks to your donation, Osuman received a bicycle and was taught how to take care of it. He says, “My house is 5 km from my house and the market. I am excited to carry the yams and corn on my bike, instead of my back. My family eats the food we grow every day.” Owning a bike will make Osuman life easier and more productive.
Osuman is very thankful for your donation, Mariana! Thank you for your support of Village Bicycle Project!
