Papa will use his bike to carry the harvest from his fields to the market

Dear Nicole,

Papa is a farmer from Dupari, a village located in the Upper West Region of Ghana. Most people in Dupari are farmers who grow yams, corn, peanuts, millett and sorghum. They take their products to the market in the town of Bulenga,  3 miles from Dupari.  There is no public transportation between Bulenga and Dupari. Most people walk from the village to the market in town and back, often with heavy loads.

Thanks to your donation, Papa received a bicycle and was taught how to take care of it.  He says, “I will use the bicycle to visit friends or go to market.  The market is in Bulenga, a very long walk away. I will use my bicycle to take yams on my bicycle to the market. Having a bicycle is a very, very fine thing!” Owning a bike will make Papa’s life easier, more productive and give him more time for everything.

Papa is very thankful for your donation, Nicole!  Thank you for your support of Village Bicycle Project!
