Awapoka will save time and money with her new bicycle!

Dear Shannon,

Awapoka lives in Kandiga, a village in rural northern Ghana. Thanks to your donation, Awapoka received a bicycle and was taught how to take care of it.

Awapoka is a subsistence farmer and sells salt at the local market. She will use her bike to go to her farm, which is 2 miles away, and bring the food home. She will also travel to other larger towns to buy salt, and then carry it to the local market. Awapoka bought a load carrier for her bike, and says it helps a lot. She says, “The bicycle makes me happy because now I use it to carry things, like salt and water when I go to my farm.” Owning a bike will save Awapoka time and money. It will also help her business and farm to be more productive and successful.

Awapoka is very thankful for your donation, Shannon! Thanks for your support of the Village Bicycle Project!
